Bucks County Native, 18, Dies In Boating Accident

State police are investigating after a Bucks County teen and recent high school graduate was killed in a boating accident in Wayne County.

Dominic Testani, 18, of Doylestown, was found more than seven hours after the accident was reported in Lake Township early Saturday, March 18,  troopers at the Honesdale barracks said in a statement.

 First responders were called to East Island Lane near Lake Henry in Lake Township at about 1:50 a.m., officials said. 

On arrival, troopers were told that three people were on the water in a rowboat when the vessel capsized, according to the police report. Two occupants were rescued from the water, but the third wasn't seen again, troopers wrote. 

later around 9 a.m. by the Scott Township Dive Rescue Team, state police said. No official cause of death was recorded. 

Testani was a January 2023 graduate of Central Bucks High School West and was preparing to enlist in the military at the time of his death, said the Central Bucks School District in a statement. 

"We share in the loss with his family and stand ready to support everyone affected by this tragedy," administrators said. 

The district said its Crisis Response Team spent will be available to help students, staff, and parents in the days ahead. 

"As our team mourns with the Testani family, we find a sense of comfort in knowing that we are here for one another, and we are grateful for the support that has always characterized the Central Bucks Community," they wrote.
